Melanie Lynn Jones, Creative Director, Gold Pagoda/SYNC HIGH

A native of Los Angeles, Melanie Lynn Jones has always been involved with music and performance.  Growing up in a family of music lovers, it was not uncommon to hear the sounds of Nancy Wilson, Hugh Masekela or Oscar Peterson on an early Sunday morning.  Of course, her favorites were the Jackson Five and Karen Carpenter; by the time Melanie was 15, she had become the drummer of a prominent church; one time Aretha Franklin sang.  What a thrill to play drums with that legend!

After a Major in Music at San Francisco State University, Melanie embarked on a career as a drummer, traveling throughout the U.S., Hawaii & Alaska as a band leader., drummer and singer.  An opportunity to work in music licensing and administration presented itself; and with her impeccable ear, Melanie began working for Celebrity Music Licensing expanding her knowledge of music licensing and publishing.  She also volunteered at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center. where Melanie many support groups covering a vast array of topics pertinent to the community; it was during that time Melanie was hired as an employee of the LA Center. As the Director of Community Outreach and Education, she managed the Senior, Youth and Adult programs.  After moving to Palm Springs Ms. Jones continued her work in management for the Desert AIDS Project. Currently, Melanie is Managing Director of Green Room Theatre Company while working as Creative Director of Debé’s Gold Pagoda Music.  Her plans are to promote and advance Debé’s songs, productions, publishing and music licensing on a world-wide scale.
